The majority of our patients are referred to the office by other satisfied family, friends, fellow chiropractors, as well as other health care professionals.  Our doctors believe in a collaborative approach to your care in that it is crucial for all healthcare professionals to work together for a common purpose of maximizing your health potential and quality of life.

Here are a few comments by our patients.

I wanted to take this opportunity to provide you some feedback regarding my association with Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic.  Please bear with me as I offer a little background information so you will better understand my perspective.

Professionally I had the opportunity to work with physicians and other medical professionals most of my adult life.  In doing so, I met some outstanding, caring physicians and other medical professionals as well as some that, shall we say, were not so outstanding.

I have also had chronic back and neck pain most of my adult life resulting from an injury while working during college.  As a result I have tried physical therapy, chiropractic, acupuncture, traditional physicians and medications, anything to avoid surgery.  Over the years I had several “recommendations” for surgical intervention but as I told you during one of our meetings, surgery is the very last resort for me for all the reasons you already know.

The purpose of this letter is to express my appreciation and thanks to you and your colleagues for the manner in which you conduct business.  To say I have been impressed would be an understatement.  I have never been more impressed with any healthcare team I have encountered.

Examples of your practice excellence include:

1.      The professional, caring manner in which you and all your colleagues there approach each patient.

2.      The fact that you spend time answering questions and educating the patient.

3.      The fact that you state up front that you might not be able to “fix everything.”  How refreshing not to hear (without any tests I might add: that you can fix anything.  That statement by itself increased my confidence level in your group.)

4.      The fact that when I arrived Terrie, Alexis and the other people up front greet you by name and know something about you.  Awesome!  I don’t know everyone’s name yet and I am sure I have left someone out.  Suffice it say I have met NO ONE in your group that did not impress me.

5.      Your “investment” for today…  What a little thing but what a huge meaning.  When I first heard that I laughed and thought that was a way to say “bill.”  But the more I thought about it the more I realize that it is in fact an investment in my health and makes me more inclined to do the things I need to do at home with Chad to keep moving forward or maintaining progress.

6.      The fact that you respect your patients enough to actually keep a close time on appointments so we don’t wait in the waiting room 30 minutes after the appointment time.

7.      The fact that you always greet me with a smile and genuine concern.

8.      The fact that when you say you will call my home to discuss something you actually do!  Awesome!

9.      The fact that your people seem happy.  What a refreshing situation to go into a business where people seem to enjoy their jobs.

All too often we are quick to criticize when things happen we don’t like.  But we often don’t express our appreciation when we get good service, care, etc.  So I wanted to say thank you to you and your group for the manner you conduct business, your caring staff and the professional, caring approach.  I don’t know where I will ultimately end up with my back/neck situation but I feel confident that I am in good hands and have finally found a home for chiropractic care.

Family and Health!

Our entire family receives chiropractic care at Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic and I can honestly say they are the best Chiropractors I have ever found. Dr. Bill and Dr. Adam care so much about their patients - I wish all doctors were like them! I can’t even count the number of times that both Dr. Bill & Dr. Adam have taken the time to ask how I am doing, to talk with my children, give me customized stretching exercises, and gently encourage me to eat healthy. To me they are like an extra set of primary care physicians and they are my favorite! So many times I have talked to them about something going on with my back, knee, stomach, or elbow, and they are able to explain what’s going on and correct it if it’s due to a spinal or bone misalignment. It’s really eye opening to learn how much the spine affects the body’s nervous system and function. In addition to their warm and friendly manner, Dr. Bill and Dr. Adam’s chiropractic approach is the only one that I have ever seen that incorporates the entire body - from the top of your head to the arch in your foot – when it comes to diagnosing what’s going on with your neck and spine.
As a mother of two, I can’t even begin to count all of the benefits that I have received from chiropractic care. From making it easier on my body during pregnancy (I never had heartburn or low back pain) and labor and deliver, to now, where I carry and pick up a small child and try to keep up with an active 3rd grader while juggling a busy work schedule. Like many women, I developed poor posture as a result of having children and it led to neck and shoulder pain. Regular adjustments along with exercise are essential for me to keep up with my kids and busy life. I can’t even imagine how limited my mobility would be without chiropractic care!
Our children also receive regular chiropractic care, ever since they were babies, and they have greatly benefited from regular adjustments. My kids have occasionally knocked their atlas out of alignment as a result of a bad fall, roughhousing or a sports activity, and when they do I notice a difference in their mood, well being, sleeping patterns and attention span – they just aren’t happy! Fortunately, Dr. Bill & Dr. Adam are able to easily correct the atlas misalignments and my kids return to their normal happy selves. Other conditions that our children have received help for include a turned out foot and stomach aches.
For my husband, Dr. Bill & Dr. Adam were extremely helpful when a back injury caused him to experience a severe and painful bulging disc. Fortunately, instead of being out of work, flat on his back for weeks, Dr. Bill and Dr. Adam were able to correct the disc misalignment within a short period of time. It was truly remarkable! Dr. Bill & Dr. Adam have also corrected other lower back issues that my husband had since he was a teenager with custom orthotics, prescribed exercise and regular adjustments. Both my husband and I are in better physical shape today than when we were in our 20’s. We have strengthened our bodies, increased our range of motion, and can now do things that would have caused us back pain 10 years ago.

I am writing a recommendation for the treatment services at Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic. In the fall of 2010, I began to have pain in my left shoulder and limitations of mobility and strength. This condition also began to affect my ability to sleep. This began a cycle of increasing pain and sleeplessness. This increased through the holidays. I sought help from a motion therapy program but did not get any improvement. Then I went to an orthopedic doctor. His treatment included cortisone shots and doing an expensive MRI. There was a very slight tear in the rotator cuff, but not enough to explain my symptoms. He then diagnosed me as having frozen shoulder and I was given pain medication to help me sleep. This process stayed the same for about 3 months. During this time, I still was not sleeping well. My arm had a lot of nerve pain during the day. If I tried to use or even raise my arm it caused extreme pain. I felt like I was losing my arm. When I raised my arms up at the same time, you could see the significant deformity of my shoulder. At this point, I was desperate. I called Atlas Orthogonal and scheduled an appointment with Dr. Bill. He began treatment. With a slow and steady progress, my arm started to improve. Little by little, just by having him do the adjustments, I started to get better. Within two weeks I stopped taking the pain medication at night. I started getting more use out of my arm. Previously, I could not even touch the top of my head with my left hand. I am now about 95% back to normal. I am doing the stretches Dr. Bill gave me and have no pain at all unless I am really pressing deeply into the stretches. Dr. Bill has done an outstanding job in getting me back to full function without surgery, without painful physical therapy and without medications. I highly recommend his services to people with frozen shoulder or any other ailment or pain. He does not give up until you are better. He made my pain his problem. He is a great doctor and a good man.

Here is a shout out to the entire team at Atlas Orthogonal from the front desk crew to the doctors! Everyone is kind, professional, and thoughtful and holds the interests of the client at heart. Every practice should be run like this one!

Dr. Bill is excellent at what he does and there are several things I like about his approach. These include, using a series of diagnostics, using precise and gentle instruments, answering my questions, and developing a long-term care plan.

Initially I had reservations about seeking chiropractic care because I had two "unhelpful" experiences prior to seeking out care at Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic. I felt that I didn't understand chiropractic but really wanted to. I was so pleased that my visit to Atlas began with watching a short but helpful video on what chiropractic is and why it is important. Dawn and the team were happy to answer any other questions I had, too!

When I met Dr. Bill I was thrilled because he listened carefully to my concerns and was on the same page with me concerning my overall wellness goals. Within minutes I felt at ease, like I was chatting to a friend, but it was clear that I was chatting to someone who is exceptional at what he does and who has a breadth of knowledge about the human body, the spine, and healing.

I received a thorough assessment from the team there and I knew the doctor's approach would be specific to me. In addition to the traditional evaluations, they also used x-rays and other diagnostics. On the visit that followed, Dr. Bill showed me the x-rays and digital-MRI scan of the muscles around my spine. Both showed clearly where the misalignments were and what needed to be redressed. When my series of treatments were over, the x-rays showed a perfect alignment! I was thrilled! I felt so much better by that time, too.

Now, I am set up with a home-care plan that I can do at my convenience to keep my neck and spine healthy. I know the team at Atlas are always there if I need them.

I have to add that I love the fact that the doctor is an athlete and understood my desire to get back to a high degree of athletic performance. He was genuinely enthused to work with me to get back into the "green zone" (doctor and coach rolled into one! :)).

For anyone who wants exceptional Chiropractic care, go to Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic.

Recovery for Mission Trip!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Austin and his staff for all they did for me in my recovery.  If I may, I would like to briefly tell you a story.
On December 9th, 2010, after finishing our Christmas concert at church, my leg was in such severe pain that I was unable to put any weight on it at all.  The next day I called my doctor for an appointment, and after he checked me out, he said the problem was not my leg but was probably in my back.  My daughter recommended that I call Dr. Austin.  She made me an appointment for the next day.
I walked into Dr. Austin’s office on crutches with severe pain in my left leg and back, on Tuesday.  During the exam, I told him my desire to be able to sing Sunday night at the Women’s Prison.  This is a concert our choir does each year and it is very important to me.  He said he would see but could not promise anything.  I had two of the laser treatments that week.  I was able to make the concert using a cane.  I did not use the crutches.
I also told the doctor that I was going to take a mission trip to Costa Rica, Mach 28.  He said he wasn’t sure about that.  I said I was going.  I had 2 treatments a week for a month. By the end of the month, my leg pain was gone.  My treatments were then once per week.

I am happy to report that with Dr. Austin and God’s grace I have just returned from Costa Rica after a great week with some fantastic people.  Our team was able to treat over 3000 people with medical, dental, vision needs.  We also played soccer, baseball, dodge ball, jump rope and did arts & crafts with a bunch of kids that just wanted to be loved.
Dr. Austin, thanks to you and your staff I was able to be a part of this team and this memory.

God bless you.

I have lived with pain since the age of thirteen from a bike accident. Now at the age of 69, I look back at my search for relief. Many days have been spent in despair, time wasted, trying to find relief from the pain. Perhaps you also feel that way. Hesitant to undergo surgery, I began my long search for care with different chiropractors and neurosurgeons. After the birth of my first child and experiencing increased pain due to the lifting involved in caring for him, I traveled from VA to Denver, CO, to visit a Palmer teaching hospital for chiropractors. Sadly, the treatment failed to provide any lasting relief. I then spent many days on the road traveling to Greensboro, NC, a 100 mile round-trip, to visit a helpful chiropractor who taught me many beneficial maneuvers to ease the pain; but alas, no cure. I often made the return trip form these appointments lying down in the back seat of the car due to the pain and hoping the treatment would "take." The time and money spent in the quest for relief would amount to a small fortune, not to mention my diminished quality of life. I have used heat, ice, tens unit, epidurals, massages, and, what feels like, every pharmacologic agent available, all with little lasting benefit. However, this all changed when I began seeing Dr. Bill Macchi at Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic. I am now finding more complete and long-lasting relief from my pain. In the past, I have always directed my chiropractor to the location of my pain. Not so with Dr. Bill. He is able to discern the source of my pain thru his many senses. All of his "antennas" are working for the entire visit. Dr. Bill's treatment approach has been life changing. After my atlas was set, I experienced a euphoric state with such well-being that I wanted to walk for miles and shout from the rooftops. I can only sing the highest praise for the gift in men that Dr. Bill is to me. I hope he can be for you, too.
